A Little Job for You — An Illustrated Read-Aloud Story
A picture story to read together, within the birth-to-two stage. The full text is aimed around 18–24 months.
Before lunch,
the table was empty.
Dad set down the plates.
Mum, Dad’s wife, set down the cups.
One light napkin was left.
“A little job for you,” said Dad.
He brought the napkin close
and helped me hold it.
I put it beside my plate.
A plate from Dad. A cup from Mum.
A napkin from me. Our jobs were different,
and the table was ready.
This is an original fictional story, not an account of a historical event.
