Robert Davila appeared under his own name in a full interview broadcast by The Deen Show in 2020. He said that he accepted Islam in early 2011. The interview gives no exact day and does not document the place of a formal declaration or the names of witnesses, so “early 2011” is the published chronological limit; a later account’s claim for a particular month is not treated as fixed history.

Davila said that he had described himself as an atheist through high school. After becoming ill, he began to pray and to ask about life’s meaning and purpose: why people are here and where they go after death. The death of his friend Mark brought those questions into sharper focus. He also had Muslim friends who answered some of his questions during that period, a point stated explicitly in the primary interview.

Davila reported a dream that he understood as teaching that Jesus was human and that worship belongs to God. He said that, on waking, the experience led him to accept Islam inwardly. This is his personal report of a spiritual experience, not an event independently verifiable by the sources, and the dream is not presented by itself as a general proof of the religion or a substitute for examining its beliefs.

Davila also described conversations with Muslims, an online questionnaire about his beliefs, and encouragement from his friends to make a formal declaration of faith.[1] The direct record does not preserve the exact words he used or a fully dated ceremony. The story therefore keeps the documented sequence while leaving an unverified day, place, witnesses and wording outside the narrative.

In the dated 2020 interview, Davila affirmed that he remained Muslim at that time and spoke of prayer and his experience of Ramadan[1]. His advice was not to give up, to rely on God, and not to let hardship become bitterness or mistreatment of others. This is a dated statement about his situation then; it is not used to infer his current religious state after the interview.
